Why French news from an American?

Each nationality, like each language reflects its own distinct way of thinking.
As an American who has lived, studied and worked in France for decades, I may bring a very different perspective on events. Via my professional life as a translator, I have covered the debates in financial markets, such as the current controversy over what constitutes the biggest worry for the world economy, inflation or deflation, with the ensuing consequences in terms of asset allocation (option strategy, equities, etc.), takeover battles (Mittal/Arcelor), the presidential elections and numerous little stories about political, economic and everyday life in France.
